Your Scalp Is a Symptom, Not the Root Cause

One of the biggest things I’ve learned through my training as a trichologist, combined with my work behind the chair and in my head spa, is this:

Scalp issues are usually not the actual problem—they’re a symptom of something deeper.

When someone comes to me with concerns like flaking, irritation, excess oil, or hair thinning, I don’t just look at the surface. Our scalp is incredibly responsive—it reflects what's going on inside our bodies and our environments. Things like stress, hormone shifts, diet, inflammation, allergies, and even the ingredients in our products can all show up on the scalp before we notice them anywhere else.

That’s why I don’t believe in just covering things up. I take a more holistic approach. We focus on clean, non-disruptive ingredients, gentle scalp care, and personalized support for your unique needs. And while I can’t diagnose or treat any medical condition because I’m not a doctor—I can help you pay attention to what your scalp may be trying to tell you.

As a licensed cosmetologist, and Trichologist in training my role is to support you topically, ask questions, look for patterns, and guide you toward what may be worth bringing up with your healthcare provider. I’m here to work with you, not just on your scalp—but on understanding the bigger picture of what’s going on.

It’s about empowering you with answers—not just temporary fixes.

If your scalp feels off, if you’re shedding more than usual, or if you just know something isn’t quite right, let’s talk. I might not have all the answers, but I’ll walk with you as we start asking better questions.

Your scalp is trying to tell you something. I’m just here to help you listen a little closer.

I only consult within the salon currently. Hairloom Salon and Spa located at

221 N Main Street, King, NC - 336.985.6269
